On many occasions, individual collectors have commissioned Ms.
Thompson to paint an image in which they have a special interest. She
enjoys these commissions as they give her a chance to work directly with
the art buyer as, together, they work out the basics of the image. She
looks over the space in which the piece will hang and photographs the
color scheme of the room. Unlike many commission artists, she works very
closely with the buyer from the beginning of the process to the end,
giving the buyer the opportunity to see the work as it develops and to
make any input they wish to make. In this way, the final result is both
an artistic statement by Ms. Thompson and an image that the
buyer has helped to create.
The images presented here are a few of the commissions that she has done
over the past few years. They are not available because they are in
the private collections of the commissioning collectors, but prints may
